Herniated Disc Faq_category
Our success rate is very high. Although we can't help everyone with a herniated disc, about 90% of our patients heal completely!
The majority of herniated discs happen from sitting too long or bending incorrectly. This is a flexion moment which causes the disc to get pushed backward but also tears the outer layer of the disc called the annulus.
That is a great question. We have several ways that we treat herniated and bulging discs. The most common way we heal it is through what we call "repeated motions". For instance, most of the time a herniated disc is made worse with bending forward and puts the most pressure on the disc. We will help put your disc back in place by doing the opposite motion, arching your back. It isn't as simple as this as you need a herniated disc specialist there to see if you're doing the motions correctly but also to progress them.
