The first step towards healthy living is perhaps the most difficult one…

What happens without it?

Procrastination, inconsistency, and a loss of interest.

If you're reading this, probably you already have the grit to embrace the first step.

Why Everyone Needs Personal Training – Show them what to do and not to do

The human body is a unique and amazing machine. It is a marvel; so much that those who believe in reincarnation will often tell you that the human form is the last physical form the spirit inhabits before its liberation from the cycle of life and death. This simply means that we are fortunate, and it is our duty to make this form the best it can be.

Many have tried, but they gave in with temptations.

Easier said than done.

“You only live once”, eh?

If you really want a fulfilling life, better start taking care of your health, or see yourself suffer the consequences of neglect.

But before the agony might even happen, here’s a guide that would serve as your kick-start after embracing the first step.

Have a Healthy and Balanced Diet

You are what you eat. A well-proportioned diet is one that gives your body the nutrients it needs to function correctly. To get the proper nutrition from your diet, you should consume the majority of your daily calories in:

  • fresh fruits
  • fresh vegetables
  • whole grains
  • legumes
  • nuts
  • lean proteins

A good diet must also include good fats. Those are the kinds that you find in avocado, whole eggs, dark chocolate, nuts, chia seeds, and salmon. Fats help your body absorb several vitamins such as A and D, to sustain a normal core body temperature as well as to provide energy.

Two to Four Gallons of Water a Day, Keeps the Hospital Bills Away

Okay, that didn’t sound catchy.

Anyways, remember to keep yourself hydrated. Water has numerous roles in the human body. It serves as a carrier for nutrients and waste products. Since H2O acts as the main thermoregulatory agent to control your body temperature, it takes part in the biochemical breakdown of what you eat (protein, fats, carbs) and the list goes on and on. So when you’re dehydrated, your energy levels start decreasing, and your body starts shutting down, which is something you don’t want to happen.

Say Goodbye to those Midnight Coffee Snack

Sleeping is a vital factor for your health. When sleeping, your body's cells produce and store many proteins that help renew all your systems. It helps your brain's chemicals boost their performance– Namely Serotonin, which is one of the most important brain chemicals for regulating the sleep/wake cycle. This is widely regarded as one of the main factors affecting your mood, social behavior, appetite, and digestion. Norepinephrine, on the other hand, is another brain chemical released during sleep, and is directly linked to your heart rate, blood pressure, stress response, and metabolism.

Fun Fact! People who are well rested lose 56% more fat than those who are sleep deprived.

Burn fats while wearing comfy-bed-friendly clothes. Amazing, right?

Never Skip Breakfast

We’ve all done this at least once. We are all pleaded guilty.

You see, skipping breakfast is a common mistake that many people do without realizing that this meal is key to reducing cravings. Skipping this meal affects your mood, energy levels, and can even make you gain weight. When you’re nurturing your body first thing in the morning, you are waking up your dormant metabolism to start burning calories once again.

Next time, grab your coffee in the morning, not in the evening.

Get those Work-out Clothes On

It has been proven that doing 30 minutes of exercise a day improves your self-esteem, reduces your stress, sharpens your memory, and lowers your risk of cardiovascular disease. You don’t have to push yourself too hard in exercising. Your body needs to adjust. Start light, then with the heavy.

Given those guidelines, it’s your time to take the action.

The most important lesson here is to start the process right away.

Don’t wait for another day.

If you’re overwhelmed with the different things you need to do, then start small, but start right now!
Once you’re on board, everything is going to fit together and your path towards healthy living will become easier.

But the thing is…

How consistent would your determination reflect by doing the first step?
