How Mark Loren Get Back In Motion with The Gray Method?

Our Patient

Mark Loren, a well-known business owner in the Fort Myers area, came to us with persistent right-sided neck pain. Every time he turned his head to the right, he felt stiff and restricted, especially in the mornings. This limited his mobility and started interfering with both his work and daily life.

The Challenge

Mark’s biggest frustration was his limited neck mobility on the right side. He couldn’t move freely without discomfort, and the stiffness was slowing him down. Like many people with neck issues, he felt stuck and worried it might only get worse with time.

Our Diagnostic Process

During his evaluation, we discovered that Mark’s forward head posture (FHP) was the root of the problem. This posture had caused tightness in his scalene and suboccipital muscles. Because of this, he wasn’t rotating properly at his C1/C2 joint or through his upper thoracic spine. Instead, he was overusing the C2/C3 segment, which led to facet joint pain and further restricted his range of motion.

Our Treatment Approach

To get Mark back to moving pain-free, we:

  • Performed suboccipital release and dry needling to relieve muscle tightness.
  • Used manipulation techniques to restore motion at the C1/C2 joint and cervicothoracic junction.
  • Retrained his deep neck flexor muscles to improve strength and stability.
  • Educated him on proper work ergonomics and sleeping posture to prevent flare-ups.

This comprehensive approach not only relieved his pain but also addressed the underlying cause of his movement dysfunction.

Mark is Now Back to Living Pain-Free

Today, Mark is free from the nagging neck pain and morning stiffness that once held him back. He can move his neck comfortably, turn without hesitation, and get through his busy days without being slowed down by pain.

Concluding Remarks

Neck pain doesn’t have to be a life sentence. You don’t have to accept stiffness or limited mobility as “just part of getting older.” With the Gray Method™, we look deeper to find and fix the real cause of your pain — whether it’s a muscle imbalance, a stiff joint, or faulty movement patterns.

If you’re struggling with neck pain like Mark was, don’t wait. Contact us today to schedule your evaluation and start moving freely again.
